We are guided by 4 Core Program Components

Four Program Areas = A Year of Connection and Community

Our four program components ground our year of programming and inform and guide the activities and badging that we do.  They are at the center of our experience and unify our families.

Community Service

Volunteering and serving others through park cleanups, visiting the elderly, and more

Experiences and Adventures

Exploring together through nature walks, cultural activities, guest speakers and more

Skills Building

Learning together the arts, crafts, sewing, public speaking and more

Building Bonds

Having fun and making friends with other LGBTQ+ families through special events and regular meetings!

Here's just some of the ways we've connected as a community:

Salt Marsh Park Cleanup - October 2025

We rocked it out cleaning up Salt Meadow Park, a beautiful stretch of playing fields and walking trails on Long Island Sound.  We grabbed gloves, garbage pickers, and bags and fanned out in teams, picking up hundreds of pounds of garbage, including cement blocks and a tire! Kids earned their Litter Hawk badges.

Stompfest! - October 2025

Using science, innovation, and ingenuity, our kids handmade stomp rockets and blasted them off into the sky at Bauer Park in Madison.  It was an incredible event and a new annual tradition we'll carry forward!

Gobble Gobble Hike - November 2025

Using science, innovation, and ingenuity, our kids handmade stomp rockets and blasted them off into the sky at Bauer Park in Madison.  It was an incredible event and a new annual tradition we'll carry forward!

Handmaking Ice Cream - November 2026

We tried our hands - literally - at making ice cream the very old fashioned way with ziploc bags and salt!  It was a blast and actually edible ice cream to boot!

Winter Solstice Bonfire - December 2026

Braving the cold on the longest night, we welcomed winter at the fireside, making s'mores and building bonds.

Seal Hunting at Hammonasset - January 2026

We braved the freezing cold to venture out to Willard Point to spot seals in the waters around Hammonasset State Park!  Didn't find any but it was an adventure in resilience and patience!

Greetings Cards for Love - February 2026

Valentine's Day involved making and sending cards to our loved ones.  It was a creative night and folks reported back that the recipients of the cards loved receiving them!

Making Music - March 2026

We joined a local Irish band for an hour to learn about and play various instruments, lend our voices to song, and celebrate St. Patrick's Day with folk songs and more.

CT Maple Weekend - March 2026

We met up on a beautiful early spring day to learn how maple syrup was made.  We searched for tadpoles in the ponds and ran around at Killingworth's beautiful Parmalee Farm.

Playground Fun - April 2026

After a long winter, we met up at a cool playground in Guilford where the kids ran around and built bonds, and the parents really enjoyed several hours of socializing in community.

Fishing - April 2026

We met up on a beautiful early spring day to learn how maple syrup was made.  We searched for tadpoles in the ponds and ran around at Killingworth's beautiful Parmalee Farm.

And More All Year Long

We learned to sew together and made stuffies; we did additional hikes; we met up at the public library to do puzzles and play games; and we formed bonds with each other, creating circles of love through every group activity and in new relationships we've carried forward together outside of our group time.  It has been an incredible year and we look forward to more!
