We're a community of LGBTQ+ and ally families on the Connecticut Shoreline who are building a strong network of supports for our children and families.  Scouting for Our Community develops confidence, skills, and leadership qualities in our children, helping them grow up to be resilient and strong, and fully contributing to a healthy and inclusive society for all.  

The word scouting is our inspiration for being explorers, for our openness to new things, and for the sense of adventure and belonging we advance.

We were founded in 2025 with a singular goal of creating a community where our children can experience other LGBTQ+ families and be part of something bigger than ourselves, expanding our circles of love and strengthening the networks that support our children.

Our first program year (September 2025 - June 2026) was a pilot of our new group, and we're planning for the 2026-2027 year now!  In May of 2026, we formalized as a 501c3 nonprofit organization.  

We are completely independent and have no affiliation to or connection with Scouting America, the Boy Scouts or the Girl Scouts.
